Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt) communicates with earthbound spirits, ghosts who cling to the living because they have unfinished business that prevents them from moving beyond the familiar plane of existence that we call life. Inspired in part by the work of famed medium James Van Praagh and of Mary Ann Winkowski, a real-life communicator with spirits, Ghost Whisperer explores the spiritual side of life and death as Melinda navigates among the dead and the living in her sometimes chilling, sometimes heart-rending and sometimes amusing attempts to act as an intermediary between the ghosts and those they haunt.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt stars as Melinda Gordon, an antique shop owner who can communicate with spirits and ghosts who have unfinished business in our world. Jennifer Love Hewitt has appeared in many feature films, including Heartbreakers, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Can't Hardly Wait and Garfield. Hewitt became known to television audiences through her role in the award-winning series Party of Five. She has also appeared in the television movie The Audrey Hepburn Story. Originally from Texas, Hewitt lives in the Los Angeles area.
Jim Clancy

David Conrad

David Conrad plays Jim Clancy, Melinda's husband. Jim knows that being an intermediary between the living and dead can take an emotional toll on his wife and worries that he might not be able to protect her as well as he would like. David Conrad lists television credits, film credits and a number of Broadway appearances to his name. Conrad studied at Brown University and Juilliard. He lives in Pittsburgh.
Delia Banks

Camryn Manheim

Delia Banks (Camryn Manheim) is Melinda’s friend and employee and one of the few people who knows Melinda’s secret. Delia, unlike her son Ned, is a bit skeptical of Melinda's gift - although she loves Melinda unconditionally as a friend. Camryn Manheim is well known to television audiences for her roles on The Practice, How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men and Chicago Hope. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her son, Milo.
Ned Banks

Christoph Sanders

Christoph Sanders plays Ned Banks, the son of single mother Delia Banks. At the age of 16, Sanders made the transition from the stage to the small screen when he appeared in his first commercial for General Mills. The following year, he landed a small role in the Will Ferrell comedy Talladega Nights. Sanders can also be seen opposite Dakota Fanning in the 2007 film Hound Dog.
Eli James

Jamie Kennedy

Jamie Kennedy plays Eli James, a psychology professor at Rockland University, who has the gift of hearing ghosts, but not seeing them. Jamie Kennedy's feature film credits include the Scream franchise, Enemy of the State, Three Kings, Bowfinger and Boiler Room. Kennedy also tours the country doing stand-up comedy. He resides in Los Angeles.
