It's Effin' Science

Show Guide

It’s Effin’ Science is a full-on “hack” of the sciences with one goal in mind: use them to do, build or create the kind of stuff you’ve always wanted, wish you’d invented or didn’t know you needed…until now. It can be over-the-top, like turning a pool party into a massive game of Battleship, or hilariously simple combinations of everyday objects and science basics that can help you win bar bets or build gadgets like homemade night vision goggles (that really work). Hosted by the unpredictable Angie Greenup, Google maps explorer Marc Horowitz and resident engineer Chad Zdenek, each episode explores the weird, wild and off-beat side of science and, in the process, can make life easier, impress your friends …or just let you have fun for the hell of it. This isn't science. It’s Effin’ Science.

Characters

  • Angie Greenup

Angie Greenup will do anything for a laugh. She is best known for her unfiltered mouth and ability to make fun of anyone for almost any reason. Everyone thinks she's the sweet, adorable girl next door -- until she opens her mouth and shares one of the weird, unpredictable thoughts that are constantly circulating in her head. Born and raised in a Detroit suburb, Angie was a goofball and always cracking up her classmates. Voted Class Clown and Most Likely to be Famous in high school, Angie knew her personality would take her somewhere. When not hosting, being funny, or making fun of people, Angie likes to run. Run far. In the last three years she has run a marathon, 7 half marathons, and countless 10k's and 5k's.

  • Marc Horowitz

Marc Horowitz is many things: a virtual cross country explorer, a comedic performance enthusiast, sheep shearer, social experimentalist, one of People Magazine’s 50 most eligible bachelors, and possibly the first would-be inventor of a brick helicopter. After school, Marc got a job as a catalog photographer’s assistant. During one particular shoot, Marc seized the opportunity to play a prank. He wrote his name and cell phone number on a whiteboard featured in a home office shoot for a Crate & Barrel catalog. The catalog was distributed with his personal invitation to dinner and he remarkably received over 30,000 calls. As a result, Marc embarked on a Trans-America journey to meet with as many people for dinner as possible, calling it “The National Dinner Tour.”
