The series stars Anthony Michael Hall as Johnny Smith, a young man injured in a near-fatal car crash who emerges from a six-year-long coma with the blessing and curse of second sight. Awakening to a world in which he’s lost everything he loved most – his fiancée, his mother, his promising teaching career – Johnny finds he must also cope with startling new psychic abilities, which allow him to see into the past and future through visions triggered by touch. His amazing extrasensory powers, stemming from the so-called “dead zone” in the normal human brain, have been activated by Johnny’s trauma. Unable to ignore his visions, especially when others are at risk, Johnny is pulled between an ordinary and an extraordinary life as he struggles to come to terms with his gift and the enormous responsibilities that come with it.
